Hot Summer Jazz Festival

The Twin Cities Hot Summer Jazz Festival is fast becoming one of the largest civic events in the upper Midwest, attracting upwards of 75,000 people.  The main event of the festival is held at Peavey Plaza, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater in the center of downtown Minneapolis located within two blocks of the Minneapolis Convention Center.  The festival closes several blocks and utilizes clubs & restaurants for additional stages.

Light Rail

Ride the Light Rail from downtown Minneapolis to the Airport or Mall of America for only $1.50 ($2.00 rush hour).  Trains travel down So. 5th Street with a boarding station at Nicollet Mall.

Purchase your ticket at a vending machine on the station platform.  They are not sold on the train.  Or, pay your fare on any bus heading down the Nicollet Mall towards So. 5th Street and ask the driver for a rail-only transfer
